Agalloch – Discografia (1997-2019) 320kbps/FLAC

Agalloch (/ˈæɡəˌlɑːx/) foi uma banda americana de black metal de Portland, Oregon. Formado em 1995 pelo vocalista John Haughm, eles lançaram cinco álbuns, quatro EPs, dois singles, um split, duas demos, quatro álbuns de compilação e um álbum de vídeo ao vivo. Eles anunciaram sua dissolução em maio de 2016.

Agalloch executou os estilos progressivo, avant-garde e folk metal que englobava uma gama eclética de tendências, incluindo neofolk, post-rock, black metal e doom metal.

Temas comuns nas imagens e no assunto de Agalloch eram a beleza da natureza, o inverno, a melancolia e as alusões ao paganismo ancestral. Don Anderson descreveu a mitologia nórdica como uma grande influência na banda e disse que “a cultura pagã” foi a principal inspiração para o vocalista John Haughm, em particular. Anderson disse que a opinião da banda sobre a filosofia de Ralph Waldo Emerson poderia ser vista como uma espécie de culto à natureza, mas que ninguém na banda praticava o paganismo como religião.

Agalloch também usou instrumentos não tradicionais, como uma caveira de veado. Na música “The Lodge”, Haughm atingiu o crânio do cervo para criar um som incomum de clique.

Em uma entrevista de 1999 do Wicked World com Haughm e Walton, realizada por Dan Tobin, os membros da banda listaram suas influências incluindo Katatonia, Ulver, The 3rd and the Mortal, Swans e Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Em outra entrevista ao web site Metal Rules, a banda citou cineastas como Alejandro Jodorowsky , Jim Jarmusch e Ingmar Bergman como influências. Eles também fizeram referência a obras literárias, como Faustian Echoes.
