Exciter é uma banda canadense de heavy/thrash metal de Ottawa, Ontário, formada em 1978. O nome foi pego da música Exciter do Judas Priest, eles são amplamente considerados uma das primeiras bandas de speed metal e uma influência seminal do gênero thrash metal; a banda foi fortemente influenciada por uma variedade de estilos musicais, incluindo Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Rush, Jethro Tull e Grand Funk Railroad. Apesar de muitas mudanças na formação, o Exciter conseguiu manter um pequeno, mas dedicado seguimento ao longo dos anos.
