Type O Negative – Discografia (1984-2013) 128-320kbps/FLAC

Type O Negative foi uma banda americana de metal gótico formada no Brooklyn, Nova York em 1989, por Peter Steele (vocal principal, baixo), Kenny Hickey (guitarra, vocal co-principal), Josh Silver (teclados, backing vocals) e Sal Abruscato (bateria, percussão), que mais tarde foi substituído por Johnny Kelly. Sua ênfase lírica em temas de romance, depressão e morte resultou no apelido de “The Drab Four” (em homenagem ao apelido de “Fab Four” dos Beatles). A banda foi Platina com Bloody Kisses de 1993, e ouro com October Rust de 1996, e ganhou uma base de fãs através de sete álbuns de estúdio, duas compilações e DVDs de concertos.
Em 14 de abril de 2010, Steele morreu, supostamente de insuficiência cardíaca causada por um aneurisma da aorta. Hickey e Kelly declararam em uma entrevista em novembro de 2010 para a revista francesa Rock Hard que Type O Negative se separou após a morte de Steele.
Steele citou o Black Sabbath e os Beatles como principais influências no Type O Negative. Outras influências são Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest e AC/DC, e bandas de rock gótico/pós-punk, como Joy Division, Cocteau Twins, Christian Death, Bauhaus, The Sisters of Mercy, Killing Joke, The Psychedelic Furs, Clan Of Xymox e Dead Can Dance. Em uma entrevista de 1999, Steele também citou Laibach, Devo e Depeche Mode como influências.
Em outra entrevista, em 2003, ele também expressou seu apreço por artistas shoegaze como Lush and Curve e pela nova banda romântica A Flock Of Seagulls.
